Help At Hand To Investigate Sudden Deaths

By Marissa Velazquez

When someone close to you dies, you will experience a series of emotional pain and a sense of being physically uncomfortable. There may be different reasons that caused the death of your loved one, some of them being suicide, drowning or an overdose. The authority have relevant help at hand to help with the investigation of the person that has passed on and usually does that by following a relevant procedure.

Essentially, the authority must carry out an investigation if they are going to know about the death event that took place. A coroner must know about the event before they can hold an inquest. This means that it will be a mandatory thing to help find enough details about the person that has died.

When someone dies, the body goes to the mortuary. You may be requested to identify the body there but this can be hard and not happen quickly. To help solve this, the coroner may collect details from various sources, especially from people who are willing to help with investigation. It could be a friend, a neighbor, a family member or any person who was present at the death scene.

Make sure you or the people in the investigation team take photos of the place where the body lay dead. If there was a message left, either in form of a tape record, a note or a video message, give it to the police because it will act as an evidence during the investigation process. There are coroners that can agree that you hold a copy of the message left before death although this is not legally approved.

The coroner, an independent judicial officer, assumes the task of investigating sudden, violent and unnatural death. He or she may be an investigative officer or a doctor. This means that if they are both, then they are legally and medically qualified. They will give an immediate helping hand in finding out how, when and where the person who died did so.

A post mortem procedure then follows. Here is where the judicial officer makes some arrangement to assist with the investigation of the brutal killing that happened. In fact, the authority works around the clock to help identify the exact factors that may have led to the occurrence of the sudden death. Actually, they try to bring out the precise reason that led to death occurring.

You must always be in contact with the officers that work with the coroners. They are good people who answer all your questions in case you have them. They also help in preparing you for the inquest process.

An inquest is a help at hand technique, which helps in making public legal inquiry about the death of the person in question. It is usually a harsh process and people hate it because it takes place in a courtroom. Even then, it is never intended to put blame on any person at all cost whatsoever.
